More Grit with That?
At the conclusion of the KV Theme at the June 2006 meeting, we decided to put in place the next two themes for September and December 2006 so that we can build an effective six month notice period into the coming theme's schedule. OK, that means that September might be a bit short notice, but from then on, we can add a new theme six months out and continue rolling this forward.
In line with the desert theme for September, for December 2006 we settled on another Middle East campaign theme, and to roll forward another 30 years or so. We've got a few keen IDF modellers on board, so it'll be interesting to see if we can flush out a few more!
Welcome to the Middle East 1948-1973 Theme. This will allow the full gamut of armour, softskins, aircraft, figures, ships and maybe even submarines.
There are lots of interesting subjects, and you could even sneak in a Syrian PzKfw IV, or lots or other second hand Soviet, US and UK equipment. If you can get hold of it, have a look at John Myszka's Israeli Military Vehicles - The First 50 Years 1948-1998 for a few ideas.
