PLA Type 59B Medium Tank

This series of images was taken in June 2006 at the Tank Museum of the People's Liberation Army, Chang Ping County, Peoples Republic of China.

According to the accompanying plaque, the Type 59B is a development of the Type 59 Medium Tank and entered service in 1984, and incorporated new technology and components such as:

• Laser range finder.
• Automatic range setting system.
• New 105mm rifled tank gun.
• Automatic fire and explosion suppression system.
